I had high expectation of this coffee shop because of the great reviews. However, I am very disappointed. There was a line when I got there, and the line moved very slowly. Retro decoration, which seems very modern. The store is packed, and I am sure that their coffee or bake goods are great! Cashier was friendly, but I also understand the reason the line was long. While I was waiting, I saw barista chatting behind the counter, which once again, I understand why it take a while for my coffee to be ready. I ordered cocoa cloud and salted maple cream, both easy on ice, and with oak milk. I like my coffee easy on ice because I do not like my coffee to be watery. I got my drinks and left. My drink had a big gap, which I understand it was because I asked for easy on ice. When I took my first sip, I felt like I was drinking water. There was absolute no taste of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, or even oak milk. I cannot image how it will taste if I do not ask for easy on ice. Both coffee I ordered were tasteless. The coffee was not cheap, they were around $8 each. Paying this price with a long wait, and turned out not good is not worth it. I ended up throwing both away. Very sad experience.

If you take your pastries seriously, Artisanal Goods by CAR needs to be on your radar immediately. This little gem on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena is turning out some of the finest baked goods I've had anywhere in LA. The Chocolate Croissant is a masterpiece. The chocolate filling is perfectly sweet β€” rich but not cloying β€” and the crust is the flakiest, most buttery, most satisfying crunch I have ever experienced in a croissant. Layers upon layers of golden perfection. This alone is reason enough to make the trip. The Almond Croissant was equally stunning β€” delicate, subtly sweet, topped with sliced almonds and a dusting of powdered sugar that made it look almost too pretty to eat. Almost. The Kouign Amann was buttery and delicate with that signature caramelized crunch that makes this pastry so addictive. Every single item was executed at a level that rivals anything you'd find at a high-end Parisian bakery. Wash it all down with their cappuccino β€” bold, strong, and the perfect pairing for the richness of the pastries. Not for the faint of heart but exactly what a proper cappuccino should be. The atmosphere matches the quality of the food β€” chill and relaxed with seating both inside

Has to rival some of the best bakeries in San Francisco. Chocolate croissant is the best I have ever had. The chocolate is not overly sweet and elevates the croissant. The kouign-amann is a game changer. Never had one so light and airy. Has a thin layer of caramelized sugar crust. Rivals the kouign amann from B. Patisserie. Lavender blackberry crossiant was a seasonal treat. Hands down, one of the best bakeries I've been to.

I stopped by this cafΓ© and it was absolutely worth it. I ordered the Madagascar vanilla latte, which was really nice β€” smooth, comforting, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. I also tried the plain croissant, and it honestly ended up being one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. It was incredibly buttery and flaky, with light, airy layers and just the right crisp on the outside. There was a bit of a line, so you might have to wait, but once you get your order, it totally makes sense why it’s popular. If you’re into great coffee and truly amazing pastries, this place is a must-stop.
